How to Customise your Chrome Home Page

Google launched Chrome browser in 2008, so they can force people to try the search engine to more people around the world. The company smartly shifted their plans to increase the range of audience with other plans. The Chrome start page came into role-playing so that users can customize the page as per their liking.

Anyone with basic knowledge can customize the Chrome start page, so users can make it interesting and accessible than before such as links, bookmarking, and other factors. However, the result should end up with a Google search engine in the home button.

We are going to show you how to customize the Chrome start page in a few clicks.

1. Reset Homepage

We have mentioned that Chrome developers do not want to force people to use Google as a primary search engine in the second phase. The ideology does not dies because the home button edited and set a specific page.

It does not mean that you have to open a specific page every time the Chrome browser launches. However, you can set a blank page, when the browser launches. We assume that you have customized the start page and ended up with a messed up launch page.

Step 1: Launch Google Chrome browser and click on the “three-dot setting”available at the top right corner.

Step 4: At the bottom, you have “restore settings to their original defaults” and click on it.

Step 5: A small confirmation window popups and you have to click on “reset settings” to clean up the start page to default.

By using this method, the Chrome Browser bookmarks does not get affected, but the start page, home button, and other settings get rid of it.

2. Clean Chrome Browser

Unfortunately, the majority of the hackers, privacy invaders and spies target your browser. They anonymously display advertisements, steal information, and install add-ons.

In the process to invade your privacy, they also block your computer from editing the files automatically and manually. Chrome Browser unable to reset or customize the start page, then something is blocking it.

Step 4: Another window pops-up and you have to click on “FIND” to continue.

Step 5: The malware scanning process begins and lets the scanner do the job.

Remember, the scanner takes plenty of time to check each file installed and add-ons as well — the minimum time consumed for the process estimated ten minutes. However, the duration can increase up to twenty minutes or more.

In case, if the Chrome browser identifies malware, then it will remove it. An extension can go missing from the list because it contained malware & the tool deleted it.

3. Start From Where You Left

Sometimes we ran into emergencies, and we have to shut down the laptop without saving anything. Immediately closing the pages can lead to unsaved information and work. Fortunately, Chrome browser comes with an excellent option that allows you to get back to where you have left off.

Step 1: Launch the Chrome.

Step 2: Click on three dot setting on the right-top icon.

Step 3: Now, click on the “settings” menu and it will open another tab.

Step 4: Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and you will find the “on-start-up” option.

Step 5: Now, click on “Continue where you left off” and then the option enable automatically.

Remember, the setting does not work in incognito because the browsing is not recorded in the incognito mode. The purpose of the option to keep the user browsing history secret, so it only works in normal mode.

4. Favorite Site

A browser used to access mail, websites, tools, and work. Millions of people use the browser for work and entertainment purpose. No matter, when the program launches, the users prefer to visit one specific site like social media site, video sharing site, a tool, email site and more.

The Chrome enables you to set one specific site to open, whenever you launch the browser.

Step 3: In the middle of the options, you can find “settings” and click on it.

Step 4: Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and you can find the feature “On start-up.”

Step 5: Now, click on “Open a specific page or set of pages” and click on “add a new page.”

Step 6: Now, add the URL of your choice and then click on “add.”

The next time, when you launch the Chrome from the menu, and the favorite website on the screen. Remember, it does not change home button URL or affect any other setting on Chrome. In case, if you have enabled an extension for start-up page, then it might not work anymore because Chrome overrides the codes.
