By default, OBS captures your desktop audio usually everything playing on your PC, including any game sounds along with the audio from your microphone. OBS will include these with your stream.

In order to change these settings, use the Mixer panel that is present at the bottom of the OBS window. For example, in order to mute either type of audio, just click on the speaker icon. And if you want to adjust the volume, drag the slider to the left or right. For selecting the audio device, click on the gear icon and select the “Properties” option.

In OBS you can even add videos from your Webcam so that you can include a small video of your webcam on top of the game stream. Therefore in order to add a video from your webcam, you need to first right-click inside the Sources box and click on “Add” then “Video” and finally “Capture device.” Then name the video capture device and click on the “OK” button.

Note: OBS will automatically find your webcam if you have one. As OBS automatically discovers your webcam you need to select the webcam device you want to use and configure any settings you want to change although the default settings should work fine. Finally, click on the “OK” button when you’re done.

3. Now we will show you the third step where you need to set up the twitch streaming. Therefore in order to properly set up the twitch streaming, you need to first connect OBS to your Twitch channel. In order to do so either click on the “Settings” button which is present at the bottom right corner of the OBS screen or click on “File” and then “Settings” option to access OBS’s settings window.

As you gain access to the “Settings” window, click on the “Stream” category, to select “Streaming Services” as your Stream Type, and select “Twitch” as your service. Then copy and paste the stream key which you have acquired in Step 1 into the “Stream key” box and select the closest server to your location in the “Server” box. Finally, click on the “OK” button to save the settings when you’re done.

Note: If you want to stream on another service such as YouTube Gaming or Facebook Live then you need to select it in the “Service” box.

You can even adjust your streaming settings from the “Settings” window. So in order to adjust streaming settings, you need to select the “Output” icon and use the options under “Streaming” to choose your bit rate and encoder.

Note: If the streaming is not smooth, try lowering the video bit rate. You can check out different settings until you find the ideal one for your system.


So we have successfully configured the Twitch Settings, and with that, we have completed the third step as well. Now as OBS is connected to twitch so we can start the streaming process by clicking the “Start Streaming” button at the bottom right corner of the OBS window.

Note: While streaming, you will be able to see a preview of your stream, provide a title, and set your “Now Playing” status on the dashboard page. In order to do that you need to click on your username at the top-right corner of the Twitch page and select “Dashboard”.
